Bioshock PC Demo available

Bioshock PC Demo available

Bioshock PC Demo

(MH) BioShock is said to be kinda revolutionary in the shooter genre. Going beyond “run and gun corridors,” “monster-closet AIs” and static worlds, BioShock creates a living, unique and unpredictable FPS experience. BioShock is the Shooter 2.0, says Softpedia.

After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Now the city is littered with corpses, wildly powerful guardians roam the corridors as little girls loot the dead, and genetically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn and your life is the least of your concerns.

I think, best ist to download the PC Demo and see for yourself …

Surprise, surprise – Canon’s new Powershot G9

Surprise, surprise – Canon’s new Powershot G9

Krefeld, 20. August 2007 – Canon today announced a lot of new photo products. With the Powershot G9 the successor of the loved-hated Powershot G7 hits the market, almost one year after the G7 has caused a lot of discussions among Powershot fans. Oops, due to Canon Germany the recommended retail price for the Poweshot G9 is 544 Euros – appeals really hefty if compared for example to some entry level DSLRs like the Nikon D40 (DSLR) black with Lens AF-S DX 18-55mm 3.5-5.6G ED II for about 500 Euros.

Powershot G9 frontPowershot G9 backPowershot G9Powershot G9Powershot G9

But let’s see what is up with the new Powershot G9:
A 12.1 Megapixels (1/1.7” sensor) with RAW mode for extended image control, a 6x optical zoom lens with optical Image Stabilizer and SR coating, the DIGIC III and iSAPS for fast response, improved image quality and advanced Noise Reduction, Face Detection AF/AE/FE and Red-Eye Correction in playback, a 3.0” high-resolution, PureColor LCD II with extra wide viewing angle, ISO 1600 and Auto ISO Shift, a compact body with dedicated ISO and Multi Control dials, 25 shooting modes including full manual control and 2 custom settings, the extra telephoto reach with Digital Tele-Converter and Safety Zoom and the hot shoe support for Canon Speedlite flashes and optional lens accessories.

So surprise, surprise Canon has listened to criticism about the G7 and the Powershot G9 now ’solves‘ at least one major ‚flaw‘: The RAW image support.

But again i predict that many fans, who waited for a sophisticated successor of the G7 will be – again – disappointed with the new Powershot G9. The G9 again lacks a fast lens, a vari-angle screen, a IR remote and a LCD status panel, which made the G series stand out from competitors. At first glance the Powershot G9 seems to be quite pricey and how good the small 1/1.7″ Type CCD will perform in terms of shadow noise, highlight clipping and purple fringing – well we will see …

Thank You All !!

Thank You !

BlackCatsPhrases. Well, people use a lot of phrases each day – day by day.
Anyway i want to say: „Thank You !“

My „Thank You“ to all of you means a lot more than those two words can tell. This „Thank You“ is for all the wonderful folks who went along with me, sharing some of my passions for a long time now: Gaming, GFX and Music. For me a honest „Thank You“ is still one of those wonderful phrases, people use to express a special gratitude, if it comes straight out of the ‚heart‘.

And this „Thank You“ comes straight out from my heart, from deep inside, expressing my nicest feelings and the most wonderful thoughts. It means „Thank You“ for enjoying my sites and for taking your time to show you care. Those many funny, happy and positive writings in my Guestbooks really ‚made very often my day‘. And all your feedback made a lot of days so much better.

My „Thank You“ is also for all the awesome help a lot of people gave me over the years. Fortunately there ARE a lot of people out there, who help others without obvious benefit to oneself. All your help with Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 as well as with the upcoming and most awaited Games, yes, that made and makes me feel very often so nice and i wish i am able do the same for you.

I was very shocked by the execution-style killing of six Italian men here in Germany on Wednesday (i heard about it on vacation). Such events make me doubt in humankind … but if i switch on my TV, i have to realize that such brutality happens. Here, there – everywhere and – day by day. Sigh, i am really glad and happy, that most gaming, music etc. communities leave a totally different mark of fun, help and love … finally, with my
„Thank You“ just letting you know how much you all mean to me …

ITM Brings Producers and Freelancers Together

ITM launches a unique one stop-service website for production studios requiring freelance artists.

ITM Brings Producers and Freelancers TogetherLondon, England – Monday 13th August 2007 – ITM Creatives, the artistic division of talent agency, International Talent Management (ITM), announces the launch of www.itmcreatives.com. The website’s bespoke search tool enables producers to search for freelance artists, animators and related technicians by location, profession and availability. The result of the search then permits access to an individual’s show reel, imdb listing and resume with a click of a button.

ITM Creatives offers the best in freelance talent because it operates across the three primary entertainment fields; interactive entertainment, feature film and television. ITM’s clients include; Ramon Rivero, the former Motion Capture Studio Director and Performance Animation Supervisor on “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”, the man who trained actor, Andy Serkis (“Gollum”).

ITM employs a rare business model that separates it from others. It does not and will not ever charge the hiring company (‘the production studio’) for using its services (right from contacting them to hiring the talent). ITM’s income comes from the low and appropriate commission charged to its clients (‘the talent’) as part of their agency representation. This representation includes the care of each freelancer’s long-term career development.

ITM’s business model and website hopes to set a benchmark for other talent agencies operating in the same industries and will force many to reassess their unethical and/or unsustainable practices.
